This is a young Oak wood up in the village heights and designated by the Government as a S.O.S.S.I. The land owner invited us up here to see this treasure because just outside the area a neighbouring farmer has submitted planning permission for 8 of the largest wind turbines in the county which will effect birds and wild life.

I,m sure these farmers are only interested in the money , They are paid £8,000 ground rent for each wind turbine that,s £ 64 ,000 per year for 8 plus a percentage of the profits .
It hasn,t yet been proved that they are viable !

Oh Amy, dont start me off.... Enertrag, a German company, earn £500k tax free per turbine from Government grants, when planning permission is granted they take the money and sell off the turbines. It makes me mad because the Government are obliged to demonstrate they are eco commited whether turbines are efficient or not. An energy expert told us wind turbines are only one third efficient and should be replaced by solar energy. This plot of land registered one of the lowest wind rates in the country.
