Is it bloom time? We usually try to drive up when the mountains are blooming. Maybe this weekend coming up would be a good time. I love the mountains when they are blooming, heck I love them all the time. I love the coast too, we try to get to Savannah at least once a year also, It was a good excuse to go more often when Ian, my son was at GA Southern, but he decided he didn't like it so well (and they didn't renew his scholarship) so don't get there as often as I'd like anymore.

Appreciate all the nice comments !
Yep Wohlibuli, their in full bloom right now, hope you have a great trip ! Can't wait to see your pictures.
They are really cool looking aren't they...:-). Should have waited and taken a better close-up when more of the blooms were open, but I tend to get alittle too excited to share them with you all....lol

More native shrubs... aren't they wonderful? Did you go to the nursery for this or just take your shovel into the forest? I love this time of year because all of nature's wonderful creations are popping out all over the place! Birds, flowers, bunnies, bees, fawns, lizards...lol... ah Spring!!

This one was growing in the woods when we cleared off the land. I decided to leave it , and made the yard around it. It's about 8 feet tall and 12 feet wide now.

Great pic! I'm appreciating how great it is to have the time to see your foundlings establish themselves and flourish!

Yes I know what you mean Lori, time sure has flown by, seems like only a few years ago we were clearing out a place in the woods for our home and yard.

My pics of my yard go back only so far...and I often wish I had some from when we moved in, so that I could do a progress album.

Thanks Charlieb ! At a distance, it just looks white, sometimes it pays to take a closer look, doesn't it ?

14 Jun, 2009

Absolutely! It almost looks like a design piece to go on a quilt or something!

Wow..., it does, doesn't it. You've got a great eye for design Charlieb.

Very cute, like 'em before they open all the way too :)

Me too Tasteyg. There are some varieties out there with buds that are dark red and the bloom opens pink, would LOVE to get my hands on one of them...:-)
