Always nice and fresh looking after a shower. We had some very dry weather for a week or 2 down here and everything was looking a bit tired so I was delighted Sunday morning when I saw all the rainfall and I went out and took some photos of my borders and put them on GOY!

This is lovely! Spring gardens after rain are so beautiful, you can see the plants revelling in their refreshing shower.

Lovely garden, my sort of style densely planted ,less room for weeds, love the acer too.

Thanks Simbad, the weeds still manage to break in though, I'm overrun by celandine in the spring, but dermined to get rid of it:-)

Bindweed with me, don't know if I'll ever get rid of that.

11 Sep, 2009

Try asking Seaburngirl, she gave me some tips with celandine which I will try this spring And I think I have got rid of a bamboo(pleioblastus auricomis) which I was assured by garden centre was a non invasive type Ha! with advice from Sbg. I don't use any poisons in the garden, but had to use roundup (very carefully) for this specific problem.:-)

Yes I use roundup too, but like you only as last resort on really tough weeds, had them all here, ground elder, brambles, house was built on old allotment land that hadn't been used for several years, also have building plot next door that no-ones built on yet and have all their weeds creeping under hedge, great fun, thought I'd got rid of the flippin bindweed after digging loads of it up and spraying couple of times, so planted and it came back through plants, only one area were its really bad, rest has gone, I think, I'll have to dig up plants and try again, will ask seaburngirl thanks for that.
