5 i think, but not bad for first flowering. i bought this as a bare root plant when i first moved, and this is the first time it has done the job for me :-) - i have another one in the back garden, but no flowers as yet...but i did move it last year so possibley still sulking.

They do take ages to flower. Shame. The good thing is that they are long-lived plants!

yes next door has some reall lovely wine coloured ones that just seem to get better and better every year.

There's an elderly lady near here whose dark red paeonies are over 40 years old...she planted them when she moved into her cottage!
