Hi Michaella, Unfortunately it's not an evergreen - it dies back right to the ground late in the fall and emerges in spring.
When we purchased it and when we moved it once, the new leaves came in mostly green, but then when it settled they grew in white again.
The flowers are pretty too, and I dead-head it to keep it blooming and looking its best. At the end of last season I let some flowers go to seed and spread them around the plant and some did sprout and have the same beautiful leaves this plant has.
This is definitely one of my top-five favourite plants in our garden :)
Tip: protect from bunnies - they love this one!

Just love the variegation on these, it's more white than green ! They are a real show stopper in the garden.

They sure are Flcrazy - and they're even more impressive once in bloom.
