Bed of Alliums, yes, at Bot Garden

This bed is so vigorous and already so big! There are four or five species from types of chives to these big allium from Russia which seem to do wonderfully. Beautiful in a mass like this.

Strangely, Sandra, I remember them getting little tufts of white just above the greens. More a structural plant. But they are so wonderful in a big bunch like this. I think my sister Greensis has a patch like this, with more blooming varieties from more temperate clime. I'll have to try and get her to post some of them too. :-)

i dont know much about aliums but someone bought me christophii for christmas and i love it. its very showy but i am now reserching more alliums.

They really are nice. This one is not generally collected. Just used here to test this russian varieties hardiness.

I'm trying alliums for the first time this year and so far they are doing well. These certainly are flourishing.

All of them beautiful in their own way. I thought I might try one of the giants next year. Have you seen any on this site? I haven't really looked for them what with so much to see; I don't think I'll ever see it all. lol.

there only so much time to look isent there GG. my hubby julian has giant garlic which has great flowers its about three feet high.

It is overwhelming. I've focused on growing my garden, and fitting in whatever else I can. I'll add this to my garden so the allium link on the right of the picture takes us to the GOY Alliums posted and in gardens. I love that link.
These have bloomed, I'll put on a pic very soon. Just white brushes on the tops. :-)
