There is a also a spider (crab spider I believe) that is eating the bee. You can see it better in the cropped photo (the photo posted after this one). It's body blends in perfectly with the flowers center. It looked as if the spider was waiting for the bee to polinate the flower and got him.

I want to sent you some squash seeds from South Africa, that we call gem squash. They grow as big as a grapefruit, gorgeous, we boil them whole then take little seeds out , plonk butter in and cinnamon sugar. How does that sound. Maybe too late 4 this season??? Like hot, hot weather.

Squash seeds from South Africa!! How exciting! Our temps for the summer run between 80-100ish. Would that be hot enough for them to grow? It's been unusually cool here for this time of year. Last year we still had some tomatoes growing in December, just barely though. I just dug up a bunch of squash seeds from the compost bin (at school for the kids to plant) and they looked like they were growing well. I could try some now and save some for next year. Do they stay viable for a few seasons? Thanks Doon :)
