Is this a species of Kaempferia? It looks very familiar.

The person who gave me this had it listed as kaempferia rotunda. I have a picture of the flower that was on the other plant. It gets a small purple flower close to the ground.

Yes, I've seen this many times...it is a very beautiful plant...it is too bad it goes dormant in winter though.
