Nice place to sit June 09

We developed this little corner a couple of years ago, although I'd planted the ivy in 2004. When we were buying the house, there was a wooden pergola with a swing attached on this site, but when we moved in we discovered that the previous owners had taken the swing with them, leaving the quite ugly frame. The ground was a mish-mash of paving slabs and badly laid cobbles which wasn't very attractive and constantly needed sweeping up as the cement was crumbling. Not having a lot of cash to spare, we eventually took this up, removed the frame, levelled the ground and filled it with large pebbles, putting two chairs and little table there. What with the elderberry to the right and an Acer to the left, it's a lovely shady area to sit on a hot summer's day (what's one of those?!)
