Hemerocallis (Hemerocallis)

I bought a posh dual coloured one last year - a named cultivar. No sign of a bud yet...:-(

It gets my vote! : )

I have the same one and I agree. So reliable and flowers for quite a long time.

Strange coincidence - I was at my friend's garden today choosing two new Hemerocallis for the new bed, and she was showing me the damage these gall midges have done!

I hope the ones I chose don't bring them along as a 'bonus'!n lol.

Best to check them thoroughly if they've already got buds on Barbara - you don't want these, believe me :-( If you choose later flowering ones, then they are not effected as the fly is only about May to June supposedly (I think that's what I read anyway). Does your friend live far from you?

Oooohh - about 5 minutes walk, Sarah! Just up the lane.

Please don't say that! I shall be too scared to buy them! She has such a lovely selection; she propagates them - all the colours you could imagine - spider ones, doubles, they are soooo beautiful!

Can you ask her for ones that flower late? It's the early ones that are affected. The late ones are ok....

I don't see why not, Sid - she won't mind. As she sells them, she has a set of photos of them all. Very useful!
