Lilium 'Nerone'

Lilium 'Nerone' (Lilium orientale)

This is advertised as being almost black! I think it's beautiful, but nowhere near black.

It's a great colour though~ my lilies are all in pots and they are coming on well but not yet in flower~I have this one and one called Elodie which is a lovely pink.Plus a selection I bought from Avon bulbs at the Cardiff show and lost the labels of so that should be a surprise when they flower!

Arlene, you didn't see many of my lilies, as they are up outside the greenhouse. I grow them in pots as well - then pop a pot into the border as they flower! Magic! Instant flowers! I went a bit mad this year....too many, really.

~Ahh! I have a whole row against the fence and when they are in flower the smell is lovely on the air~you can't have too many!~ at the moment I have honeysuckle which is another favourite.

My husband wouldn't agree with you! He doesn't like the rows of pots....

I had one called Blackout and it turned out a colour similar to this. Lovely anyway.

Beautiful Spritz, i have 'Dimention' that is very simular to this... that is also discribed as near black but is acutally more burgandy/red.... i do believe the deepest coloured lily that you can get is 'Landenii' (not sure if spelt right) it is an oriental, and it is almost black, but i have only ever seen it as a cut flower.
