Yes, snails lay eggs but the breeding process is the same as mamals.

If you kill an adult snail the babies that are waiting for the adult to come back to slime it will produce more slime so I have learned from another gardener and reproduce more. When my nan had a business in Bristol she had a hotel and tea room my mums job was to go around Bristol and collect all the snails of the walls and take them back for my nan to sell to the French sailors 1d per snail could I tell some tales

I have watched a documentry not so long ago in uk where they were farming snails for the french, perhaps its the one in Hereford as my daughter in law informed me on. I do believe the French still buy them.
