Coleus 'Amour'

The original Coleus plants which I took all the cuttings is located in the uppper right hand corner next to the Jacaranda trunk.

How lovely - they are just such a great addition to a shady spot in the garden. I wish I could grow mine out in my garden beds here. I used to be able to do this in my last two gardens, but it's not possible on this property. I have to be content with growing them in the greenhouse and in pots out in the courtyard.

Thanks! I really like this Coleus. It's unfortunate I pulled them all out about 3 months ago after more than 3 years in the ground...I'm glad I still have one left to grow cuttings from. This was a perfect spot for them to grow -- under the shade of the Jacaranda tree.

Why are you unable to grow them in your garden beds? Too much sun?

The palm in the pot is a Pritchardia remota - Loulu Palm native to the Hawaiian Island of Nihoa. It's a relatively rare palm...even though I have 2...and this is the small one. I'll post some photos of my two Pritchardia remota for you soon.

Seems I've always had coleus...they are so beautiful and easy to propagate. your garden looks wonderful.... Have you received any rain?

Yes, Coleus is very easy to propagate. I just stick them in the ground...and water.

This is an old photo of my garden...as I've taken all these Coleus out about 3 months ago.

We had one night of rain a couple of weeks ago...it was nice to see the rain, which is very rare this time of year. It's still not enough rain though. Thanks for asking!
