That's a well designed garden, particularly like the raised beds!

Thanks Paulthegard. I thought the raised beds would not only provide more soil for the shrubs; because at ground level it is solid clay, but also make them appear as though they are on display by adding to their height.

I dug up so much clay from my two little gardens that felt like a never ending story to me but now finally I am getting to there.

You're enthusiastic, Ualda, digging the clay out. I have just dug lots of organic matter in over the years. Compost, manure etc.
