Thanks so much Louise ! Read that opposites on the color wheel look great together. This an attempt at putting the opposites of purple and orange together. I like the result. I already have alot of yellow and blue together in the garden and love it.

Yes Louise, I just love designing my garden with it in mind ! The combinations are endless, but I never tire of trying new things based around it.
Thanks GT, I must admit the structure and foliage contrasts weren't planned. But glad you like it. When you try enough different arrangements long enough, eventually I get lucky on occasion....lol

That is a great combo, I am very much into dark foliage this year.

I love it too Dotty, can't get enough of it. I notice too that if planted in the back of a narrow bed it seems to give the garden more depth. It's a visual trick on the eye.

Thanks for that tip, my border on the one side is rather narrow, will give that a go.

I love this combination....and the Caster bean tree is stunning....I wonder if it would survive here.....:o)

Janey it's an annual for me and gets up to 15 feet tall in a season for me. I believe it's hardy to zone 8 which is about 20 F. Can't even wrap my head around the thought of how large this devil would grow if it were a perennial ! I'll be glad to send you some seeds this fall so you can find out for yourself, how's that sound ?
