This strelitzia nicolai over-wintered half-way up the stairs in our house, as that is the only place with enough height ! It will be outside now until autumn.

Good lord!!
Does this flower at all?

I doubt it will ever flower in the UK - except in places like Kew. It suffered badly - again - from wind damage in June/July, so this winter it will live in the garage - cut off at 7 feet to fit in - instead of the stairs. It does not look very good at the moment, but I think that is only the leaves and that the root is OK. I can use a sack trolley to put it into the garage, which is much easier on my ( and my wifes) backs !!

Did you photograph it on the stairs ?
I can imagine your carrying it carefully through the doorways...
Good thing you don't live in a bungalow. Lol.
