Ficus auriculata - Roxburgh Fig

Oh my goodness, my dear sweet little old grandma (My Nonna) would be tickled pink to have all these. She loves figs! They look strange growing on the branch like that. I haven't seen them grow like this before.

I've never seen this before and i love this shot, are they edible Delonix ?

Is this the usual way for figs to grow?

Many species of Ficus will produce figs on the trunks and branches.

They are edible, however, I've never tasted one before...I should have as there were several large figs on the ground.

Thanks! Not all species of Ficus grow figs like this...but some do. Most species of Ficus will produce figs at the tip of the branches.

I'll post my Ficus cyathistipula in my back yard which has many large figs on it now.
