Davidsonia pruriens - Davidson's Plum

It's native to my state - but only the north east of Queensland. The aborigines have eaten these for a long, long time and they call it 'orray'. This is what we call a 'bush tucker' plant - something we can use for food or as a food additive that's straight from the native bush. Raw it's quite sour, but it's used as an additive in jam and wine and as a colouring in ice-creams and drinks.

This tree is very rarely available for sale here...however, the seeds are available locally for sale. It appears to grow very quickly.
