If those tear-shaped leaves are the trees leaves and not anothers leaves then this wasn't the plant i just referred to as having years ago !

Radermachera ignea and hainanensis have orange flowers Delonix - but you'd have to do a bit or googling to find a match.

Louise1, yes this is another species of Radermachera. However, it didn't have the species epithet listed on the sign.

Bernieh. thanks for the information! I googled Radermachera ignea - this looks very much the same. It appears to be native to Thailand...which means it is ultra-tropical and seems to be pretty rare in cultivation.

Radermacher hainanensis has very different leaves and the flowers are more bell-shaped...so I think I can rule that species out.

Thank again!

Glad you found it - it really has lovely blooms and I think they have a jasmine-like scent.

Bernieh:

I'm glad you found the name. I did read it had a jasmine-like scent. I'll have to go back and smell the flowers to confirm it...and maybe get some seeds also. lol : > )

I think you should Delonix - it's not a common tree in gardens. As you said it's quite a rare thing - so good luck with the seed hunting.

Bernieh:

I've seen many long seed pods on this tree before. Like most Radermachera species it produces an abundance of seeds pods in late Summer and Fall.
