Love this one, thought I'd bought this last year, bought four from the same supplier, unfortunately when they flowered ended up with two 'Alien' and no 'Jans Twister' :- ( ,other two were right, have found another supplier though so next year maybe ......

I know what you mean Simbad. I've bought a few that turned out to be wrong too. I lived 2 miles from a small daylily farm that has since closed, and I saw first hand how things can go wrong. If the workers don't collect every piece of tuber out of the dirt when dropping an old daylily selection to grow a new one in it's place , you wind up getting some of the old ones mixed in with the new, from that one tuber they missed. Luckily I only had to drive a few minutes to get my replacements. She was very good about exchanges. I haven't bought any new ones since she closed down...:-(. I've not been brave enough to buy any off the internet yet.

Yes I've had three wrong ones this year, one the seller insists is right but I'm not convinced, they'd bought fans in from abroad, another was supposed to be malachite prism but when it opened turned out to be mildred mitchell which was one I was thinking of buying anyway so wasn't too disappointed, contacted the seller who was very nice and did offer a refund, another who had sent for the plants from abroad,he'd had loads of complaints as they were all the same.
Buy most of mine on ebay and not had many disapointments, found one particular seller who has some lovely daylilies, always big plants and never had a wrong one, very friendly lady, and always puts picture on of actual plant flowering in her own garden.
I sent for some seeds from US this year some lovely crosses, have 41 baby plants so far, can't wait till they flower:-)

Sounds like I'll have to give Ebay a try then, and maybe I'll try some from an on line daylily farm this year too, what the heck, right ? Might as well go for it ! I'll have to check on Dave's Watchdog and find out which companies have the best reports on costumer service and healthy, well packed plants before I decide who to order from. Sounds like I have at least a few cold Winter days booked with something fun to do !
Bet you are very excited about your crosses, sounds like an exciting hobby ! You seem to be like me when it comes to loving surprises, hope they don't take too long to bloom for you.

Wow, those petals are loooooong ! Very unusual. I love unusual. This almost reminds me of my daylily "Enjoy" only she's not quite as long.
