a lovely clump that hasnt been disturbed for 12 yrs, perhaps i shouls split it but is so strong still.

i tend to leave the dead stems so i know where it is as it does pretty much disappear. the stems are really woody too so in the spring i end up with cuts and grazes from it. if i do split it i 'll send you a bit if you still want it.

I've not grown this before.
Is the clump visible in winter or does it die right back down ?
It must be hardy as it has flourished there for 12 years !
