11th July 2009. I noticed a garden at Hampton court using Alliums in this state. I wonder how easy it is to grow them from seed?

I have now harvested the seed from this and it's drying in the kitchen.

No wonder, Sandra. :-)
Also, am now drying off my giant Allium "Beauregard" heads and stems in a pot in the lounge.

I cut some of my Allium seedheads off and let them blow around the borders like tumbleweed seeding where they like. I have a sandy soil where they seem to seed quite successfuly and if any come up where I don't want them, they are easy to transplant. :~)

Thanks Muddy, that sounds a lot easier than the instructions in my RHS book - I suppose it has worked for long enough without our help :o)
