Thanks all, I love sitting here, it's where I do my best thinking. We usually serve tea & cakes here on our open days for the NGS. We're doing our last one on Sunday 26th July 12-5pm, let's hope the sun comes out for us!

how big a garden is yours Jen? it looks lovely very interesting and very well laid out, wish I lived nearer would love to have come along and seen it for myself. Pictures are great but they never do the whole garden justice I think. Hope your next open garden day goes well for you.

thankyou so much for all the lovely comments!
Our garden is what you might call tiny...we're just 15'x30' so it has to be very carefully laid out to fit everything in.
With every step there's a different view, so I always tell visitors that the only way to see the garden properly is SLOWLY, and watch out for the crocodiles!
We're hoping for a good day on the 26th July (our next open day) as it's the last one this year, and 'jungles' always look better in the sunshine.

Wish I lived closer, would love a slow stroll through your garden :)

We live in London and often John works on Saturdays but I hope we can come and visit you in your open days sometimes, mabe next year, I really would live to see a little beautiful garden.

Looks like a wonderful spot to sit back, relax, and take it all in.!

It's the best place for midday shade, and gets the sun late afternoon 'till sundown, good spot to wind down....after a long days gardening.

You'd be surprised how time goes when you're showing people around, unusual plants, little features, how the garden was made.
It's funny really, when it's your own garden you become somewhat complacent and it's hard to imagine how the time will be filled.
Our visitors don't feel that because it's a new experience for them. Have you approached the NGS yet Dottydaisy?

You'd better be careful who you say that to Sue, might get a cucumber slapped in your hand!

Junglejen, no not asked them yet, done a major overhaul so the garden looks a mess, will have to wait until next year now........looking forward to your blog though.

When you're ready then, the NGS are always looking for new gardens and yours looks wonderful to me. What have you been doing in your overhaul?

Well.....taken out pond and turned it into a jungle (inspired by your photographs)removed large pittosporum a tender one didnt make last winter, ripping out all but 4 feet of solid paving down the side of house (lovingly laid by husband......not happy!!!) to be replaced with shingle and sleepers for new seaside garden, making a mediterranean area, and an oriental area.............to be finished by Christmas, lol

OMG don't go ripping up your garden because of me! You're doing so much work, I'll look forward to seeing the NEW garden and I'm wondering what you've done to the pond! 8-)))

Hi M, maybe it's got symbolic water- like the Japanese do with stones and things. They use gravel etc to make it appear like a dry riverbed, clever people 8-)
