You'll be glad to see the back of the comfrey Spritz :-)

I have added even more to this area today. AND I removed more Comfrey! Sadly, there's loads more. :-(

Were your predecessors fans of comfrey or has it just spread and spread.
I would imagine this area looks even better now then.
Do you pop labels in each time you set plants Spritz?

Ah - you spotted it! No, not normally, but this was a gift and a baby one, so I stuck its label in to remind me what it is.

They MUST have liked Symphytum (Comfrey), as it was in so many places round the garden! It obviously took over, as well, though. What a pain! (literally, when I didn't realise it was so bristly!)

I haven't posted the photos of the new planting, as I thought you'd all be bored stiff with seeing it! LOL.

No Spritz, never get bored seeing your plants.
Wondered about labelling as I dont know how you remember what and where everything is, I forget.
Werent the previous people that knowledgeable in the garden?

I take photos! I have a folder for each month and keep it up to date. I also, as you know, collect hardy geraniums and Clematis. On my laptop, I've made charts for both these, and the columns tell me exactly where they are, pruning groups for the Clems and there's a photo of each, too.

GOY helps, of course, as each new plant goes on my list.

I think they were good gardeners, but they got tired and he was ill so they decided to move abroad. The garden was certainly a bit neglected when we came. Why they didn't do anything about all that Comfrey, I really don't know. Maybe it crept up on them and they couldn't cope?

That's what I call dedication. Amazing, your logging system obviously works very well.

I do forget some names...I'm not perfect! I have 'senior moments' and I'm always losing labels! I am cursing as I've lost one today. Grrrr!

I'm learning the importance of labelling - you feel sure you will remember, dont you but 2 weeks down the line and its, errrrrr, cant remember, lol.

You are soooo right! I had to check out the name of that Trollius...I thought I'd remember, with Cheddar being just up the road, but no - I didn't. :-(

So frustrating isnt it and I'm sure sometimes the labels disappear. I blame the birds, lol.

I blame me, I'm afraid, Dawn. I get so cross with myself!

I can't bring myself to blame poor Henry. He just pinches stones when I dig them up! lol. He's getting much better at bringing them back, though.

Lovely Henry! If he drops them on the lawn, I guess husband isnt pleased when he mows and hits Henry's stones, ha ha.
I labelled all my tomato plants this year, we have Shirley, Alicante, Money Maker, then I picked some for tea, washed them and of course mixed them up so I couldnt remember which were which, never mind.

Spirtz. As the message has come through twice, you will understand from your experience that BT broadband is so rubbish!

21 Jul, 2009

Tell me about it! My husband got talked into changing providers a few weeks ago - and my laptop wi-fi connection keeps crashing! I could scream... Aaaaaggghhh! Like that!

I suppose with tomatoes, it doesn't really matter, as you are going to eat them anyway!

No, Henry brings them back to me and drops them...he then dances about wanting me to throw them for him to retrieve. Needless to say, I don't!

Our problems have started since we changed provider too. My husband is convinced BT have 'throttled' down the supply so they can to provide more customers - I complained and the speed was great for a couple of weeks and now its rubbish again :-( Looks like I've got to get assertive again.
