Hosta in Bloom

Unusally this Hosta is not being attacked by the dreaded slugs yet, which has in past years been first to suffer damage.

Thanks Sandra yes i agree hosta are one of the first plants to get attacked in my garden, this one is in the front and dont get as many slugs

Thanks Gee I have five and this one is the biggest, it is over 5 yrs old.

Thanks Amy Ive found the ones in the back garden have a lot of damage which I think is due to the lush planting as the snails can hide away better

I wish I was with my plants lol I ll have to go and find a hedgehog I know where there is plenty shame its illeagal to take them, which baffles me as they only get run over they would be safer in my garden :) with lots of snails and slugs to eat,

I used to have them visit me every night when we lived at the cottage, sometimes as many as 5 at the same time, when my grandchildren stayed I used to let them stay up to watch them. The garden where we live now is fully fenced all round so I doubt they can get in which is a shame as it would beat going out at night with a torch on snail hunts LOL
