This is one of my favorite tropical shrubs. I have several. This one is located in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. Photo token Jan. 16, 2013.

Thanks! :>) Acalypha varieties are extremely colorful! The large Acalypha I have has much more colors in it.

Yes, it a very tropical shrub native to the South Sea Islands. It really dislikes temps below 48ºF (9ºC); however, it will tolerate it only for short periods. Temps below 40ºF (4.5ºC) most or all leaves fall off this shrub. Freezing temps will kill the whole shrub.
