Acer griseum and Fothergilla

Acer griseum and Fothergilla (Acer griseum (Paper-bark maple))

I try to combine plants that will look good together, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I think it worked great here, I really like the Fothergilla in front of the paper bark maple. The 'Burgundy' oak leaves don't seem as bright this year but probably all the color around them make them look darker.

Hi

Does the maple's bark peel at that size.I have 2 grown from seed that are a few years old,but still in 3 ltr pots and am amazed by the amount of peeling.

Yes, paper bark maple starts peeling very young! It's hard to see in the picture but it's definitely noticeable. I have a seedling that is about 2 years old and haven't noticed it peeling yet but I have seen smaller seedlings with peeling bark.
