Acer palmatum 'Inaba Shidare'

Acer palmatum 'Inaba Shidare' (Acer palmatum (Japanese maple))

This variety holds its color good all season and the one above only gets a few hours of sun early in the morning. Has a dark maroon color during the summer and is bright red early in the spring and in the fall.

Thank you! I don't know how I missed all these comments before but it is a nice variety. I took this picture last year when the fall color was at its peak. The color only lasted a few days last year, hopefully it is longer this year. It seems like the dissectum varieties drop their leaves fast after coloring though.

I come to conclusion, that this is your most favourite tree in the garden :)

I always figured that anyone who really loved plants had to have at least one japanese maple. Not my favorite plant but one I wouldn't want to be without :)
