Possibly different light conditions. I was reading somewhere that there are differing opinions on colouring. Some think light conditions and other think cold/heat.
I must say that no matter what the year (I've had this 17 years) it's always the same colour but this is the latest it has coloured up and only done so in the last 2 days.
It's the winds that get them here!

Wonderful shape and colour. My 'Crimson queen' turns completely orange. Probably different lighting conditions?
Now it is getting dry and brown. I sure wish it would stay in colour for little longer.
