Akebia quinata full out. (Akebia quinata)

It's called the 'Chocolate Vine' and it does have a familiar scent...

I have four of these Spritz. I had these growing on my covered patio. I've moved them to my front fence.

love this dark pink :)

I think the buds and flowers on mine are a darker colour than yours, Spritz.
I'll keep a check on it.

Any chance of a cutting Spritz ? Would love one of these !

Spritz ~
Does the one David photographed recently have darker flowers than this ?

Err - no? I only have one like his. Maybe it was the light on the day? Or differences in cameras?

BB - you tell me how to take a cutting and you are MORE than welcome! :-)

I've just walked down the garden to look at the buds starting to form on mine and they are all a deep burgundy red colour. None pinkish or paler.

I'll go and have a look - hold on!...................................

Puff, puff. No, they are all pale-ish.

I just spotted that the bluebells under the Berberis are up showing their flower heads! If we do get warmer weather this week - they'll be out!

Sorry to exhaust you. Lol.

At least you found good news on the bluebells. :o)

I was only joking, Tt - it was a lovely surprise to see BLUEBELLS nearly in bloom, so you did me a favour, getting me to dash across the grass!

31 Mar, 2009

That's great about the BLUEBELLS :o)
I'm beginning to wonder if the Chocolate Vine is available with a choice of flower colours....
I'll have a look on internet....
Internet describes this one as a "dark, claret coloured flower".
I'll look at my vine again when in full bloom...

31 Mar, 2009

OK. Sorry if I shouted - it was excitement! I love bluebell time. :-)
