Thanks. I think they're great, don't you, Denise? :-)

I love them

They're kind of 'architectural' - the form is so different! I should plant some more in the autumn, I think.

10 Jul, 2010

I intend to plant more this year as they were lovely in the spring too.

I'd like some pink Alliums - I've seen them in the catalogue...so I'll be ordering those too. Can't think of their name....:-((((

Some Pink Alliums I would quite like are - Carolinianum with its wider leaves or Narcissiflorum with its drooping head or Ostrowskianum just 6" But mostly its the height of them I like.

One minute while I check......got them.......A. cernuum and A. uniflorum. I got A. ostrowskianum by mistake this year - not my mistake, Parkers sent them instead of Brodiaea. I like them, luckily!

Put in 50 of these, they have been out for some time now, and doing really well, so pleased with them although they did take ages to colour up.

11 Jul, 2010

I find its quite nice waiting for them though as it makes them seem to last forever!

12 Jul, 2010

That's a big advantage, isn't it - as well as not getting smashed up by the wind! my 'Purple Sensation' were beautiful one day - the next, all the purple flowers had blown away!

12 Jul, 2010

Oh thats a shame Spritz mine stayed upright to the very last but they are in a sheltered position.

12 Jul, 2010

The 'skeletons' are still there - I leave them, do you?

12 Jul, 2010

Only till they gave way when pulled - about a month after flowering, but this is my first year with them should I have left them?

12 Jul, 2010

Yes - as long as you like the look of them, which I do! I pull them out when they go brown and 'give' in my hand to a light 'pull', just as you said.

12 Jul, 2010

Thanks I seem to have got it right.

12 Jul, 2010

:-) Of course you have! I would have been surprised if you hadn't!
