Garlic Chives (Allium tuberosum). Edible plant with flowers Aug-Sept. The purplish flowers in the background are pot marjoram and both of them are a big hit with the bees on a sunny day.

I think they make wonderful flowers you won't get many pests around where you are growing your garlic.

i really love growing herbs as well and i grew these on my patio last summer i also grew all the popular herbs in a little alibaba type pot.like you i lived with a small patio space until recently when i moved to a house with a small garden....hope to here from you more this summer.
