No Paul, this one is supposed to be hardy ...all of these are. There is a different kind of maidenhair fern that you have to have indoors. Perhaps that is what you're thinking of?

This is the one that all the leaves died, but I am hopeful it is still alive!! good selection, we have been collecting ferns for over 30 years.
