The pond area in the back garden - Aug. 2008 (Caltha palustris & Lythrum salicaria)

The Marsh marigold is in its second flush of the year, with the bloom of Purple loosestrife just visible top right.

oh, that's nice. and a lovely setting - one might come upon it by accident, from any direction. very subtle, and - what's the word? - harmonious, it blends and so belongs
