Blooms of a Silk Floss tree (Ceiba speciosa)

Wonderful large (10" maybe) flowers on this tropical tree from the South Americas. This one about 30 ft photographed on the pavement verge Italy.

Thank you for the info, Klahanie. The trees are indeed beautiful, loaded with blooms. Considering the number of blossom, I don't think they must have much scent, couldn't detect any perfume?

Thank you for your comments Bloomer, which have disappeared. The 'root tree' is still in the piazza next to the coach station.
I have tried 3 times to post pics of Vesuvius, but I think because all us tourist are looking for something to do during the bad weather, the internet will not upload my photos.
