Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Fernspray Gold'

I've had this three years and am amazed it has never lost any foliage or browned over winter. Usually the gold varieties will burn (even the green ones usually burn here, even my 'Compacta' variety had to be in the ground a few years before it stopped burning) but this one still looks great. I have seen these break under snow and ice before when they reach about 8 feet tall so I am careful to trim it back every year to hopefully keep that from happening. This is a great variety, if you are looking for a nice yellow Hinoki cypress I'd recommend this one.
