The leaves definitely change this time of year. It looks great!

The Petra looks far more yellow now. Much electric yellow with the red. That is more chancy for the winter.
Maybe next month Andy I get to HD to see what I need for a PVC mini greenhouse..3x3x3..sounds right. Open on two sides to let fresh air flow. Mainly stop hard frosts and heavy rains.

Their is an Australian website on growing Crotons in Sydney and even possible down to Melbourne. They said that the fiddle leafed Crotons were old varieties..same for the Mammy.
Nowhere but in Florida do people say Petra is cold tolerant.

Only me in the bay area-ha. Well,I've seen one go through last winter outdoors on a porch. Looks pretty good for people who know nothing about plants other than to water them on occasion.
Let's hope the long streak of no real killing arctic weather goes on up here.

Sydney has a climate similar to Los Angeles. Melbourne is very similar to Oakland's climate, although, probably warmer in the summer and a little milder in winter.

Yeah,I've seen photos of 10' Jade plants in Melbourne although looking at Google maps the Australians in that city really reject the tropical plant garden look. Very temperate looking..and then you spot a Monstera climbing a fence or Aloe barbarae a good size...but rare. Sydney is like Los Angeles in going all out for as tropical as it can look.
Today Andy- My King palm is flowering. Only took 12 years!..2 in a pot..10 in the spot.
I plan on planting as many as i can. You have any idea how long it takes seeds to ripen this time of year?..I've seen them in flower in spring around here..mine is really a hardcore Australian as this is THEIR spring.
