My coffee tree has many cherries (coffee beans are in the coffee cherries which are sweet and edible) This is the first time they have ripened this early in the year. They have been ripening over the last month or so. Generally, they ripen in Summer. Photo taken April 23, 2009.

No...many times they just fall to the ground and germinate. I don't drink coffee. I just love the plant...even though the leaf edges have brown-tipping from our hard water. I do like to eat the cherries...as they are sweet and taste good.

Yes, they are very pretty...they remind of Christmas time...I usually have the first crop ripening in late Summer and the Second/Third crops around Thanksgiving through Christmas or News Years. This little tree blooms several time a year, thus the different ripening times. I'm not sure if this is normal...as I've never read anything about multiple coffee crops a year.
