This shrub is a real 'test' for me. I just adore it. The first one I tried died on me, and this one....what a straggly hopeless shrub it is! I've moved it a bit to get it in to moister soil, and hopefully, once it's had a good prune later on, it will do better. The colours are just incredible. I hope it picks up next year.

Good luck, they are very susceptible to wilt, can just up and die, so it has put me off trying another red one.

Hmm...interesting! I shall know what's happened if I lose it, but it's growing well now....just only at the ends of the long straggly branches.

K just keep an eye on it, Annella if it is as old as that I would imagine your safe now....

Thanks Angela....even if it dies, I shall still try again...I just love this shrub! When it comes to gardening style...I'm definitely a 'Hillier' girl!
