Suddenly had a thought today...imagine if this was 'it' and there were no other flowers coming after....try to enjoy them while they last and live each day to it's full!

Brilliant - Yes the sun is becoming obsolete here ):

It will come soon folks....I know how you feel, we had dingy darkness all this month until a couple of days ago!

You have sunshine....we have cold, rain, and grey skies....love your picture.

Good advice. I sometimes feel people are always looking ahead to the summer, but I find it a disappointing season. I preffer the others and like to enjoy them while they last
(except when it's cold lol)

We have had an absolute stonking sunny day here. Walked on beach, then out in garden. Really warm too. I actually sat in the sunshine, closed my eyes and listened to one of my fave. pieces of music on Radio 3.....so many memories came back! Wonderful day! Hope you all get one soon!

It's been realy cold here today! I'm moving to Scotland LOL
2 Mar, 2011
Lol! You might be moving back again next week! Another lovely day today though. I think tomorrow will be a bit colder and cloudier...I have to take my car to Dundee for repair, so not too bothered. Friday we should get sun again. Have you got growth on your 'Warm Welcome' yet Teds? I haven't checked mine since I planted it, I must go and have a look tomorrow!

Love this Karen, the way you've taken them...they are a really pretty type too....can't wait for Spring....I've noticed my miniature tulips have the flower heads up, after just one warm afternoon!
2 Mar, 2011
Thanks Janey, the sunshine brings everything on so quickly. I also have little tulip buds forming in the miniature ones......lovely time of year isn't it.....and from now until the end of May it just gets better and better! hurray! :))

It's been lovely in Aberdeen all week, long may it continue :)

Karen I haven't received mine yet :((
I had a phone call form the supplier to say it wouldn't be with me till the end of March. It looks like you will have a head start in the growing competition. LOL
I have started to make over the car port (Teds Corner) had a lot of plants delivered yesterday. I would like to plant them up, but its cold here at the moment the wind chills you to the bone. My RA is bad at the moment and the cold makes my joints hurt. I'm going to the doctors for injections into both my thigh joints tomorrow.
Hopeful next week will be a little warmer and I will feel better, I'm itching to get started. Nobody tells you once you hit 50 its down hill (well it was for me) 55 this month can't believe it! I feel so young inside, it's just a pity the outside has fallen apart LOL :))
3 Mar, 2011
Oh dear Teds. I do hope that improves soon after the injections. It's a horrible thing arthritis and RA is the worst isn't it. Dreadful. Hope the warmth comes soon and makes it a bit easier. xx

Aw! I'm just an old whinger plenty worse off than me. I'm just excited about getting Teds corner started I have this vision in my head of what I would like it to look like. I lay awake some nights just dreaming about what I would like to plant. I just get a bit frustrated some times when I can't get on with things. I will be fine soon, the flare ups come and go so I'm luckier than some poor devils. I met a young woman down at the hydrotherapy pool one morning. The poor lass was only 26 but she'd had 4 Ops already in her short life to help with the RA and she was in constant pain. Thanks for you kind words Karen:)

Yes, well there's always someone worse off Teds, but that doesn't diminish your discomfort. You be good to yourself. I know what you mean about lying in your bed planning your planting...I am just the same...wer'e a tad obsessive about our gardens aren't we, but that's ok. :)) Growing things is creative, therapeutic, environmentally positive and productive too. There are dafter things to think/dream about!! I don't think you're a whinger at all, I think it's amazing that you stay so positive and active and still get so much pleasure and joy from your life! I can see from your photo that you are a fun lady to be around!

Thanks Karen! for your wise words. The sun is out today so after the doctors appointment Paul is driving me to a hellebore nursery. Bjs has asked me if I would check out the nursery, as it's not far from us. He is looking for a hellebore called H Penny's Pink. Whats the betting I buy some plants?.

Hey hey! that sounds like a treat! Hope you had a good day. It's been sunny here, and lovely and warm. I did loads of cleaning and laundry in the am, but then I went out and relaid all my paving slabs in fresh sand....well I got nearly half done before I ran out of sand, but my back is really paying for it now! Also got two new plants in, the strawbs planted out in containers and some seeds sown. Lovely!

look lovely karen so many to :o)

Thank you San. They are all around the greenhouse, I planted them last autumn and am really pleased with the result, such a difference in the garden this year, with the shady evergreens and the new crocuses and daffs. I still need more though, there are no bulbs at all in the new 'warm colours' bed!
6 Mar, 2011
yes i think the more the merrier karen, i would like alot more myself to make an impact :o)
6 Mar, 2011
Crocuses are the best spring bulbs for me because the foliage doesn't sit there looking ugly for months! I always end up cutting the daffodil leaves back a bit too soon...just can't stand all that floppy yellowing mess!! lol...typical of me!
6 Mar, 2011
i inderstand karen i dont like it either lol, all mine are ages off flowering yet.
6 Mar, 2011
I always look out for the really early flowering vars, so I don't have to wait ages for them!
6 Mar, 2011
good idea karen.
