I know Hywel. They have been open and closeing all through the cold weather this week, because it seemed like spring was on it's way, with it being lighter longer, I think they were ready to braved the elements...

Thank you Bonkersbon. They have done well, and I am really pleased with them. Any flowers this time of year are a welcome. Oh sixpence I am sorry yours did not make it. If my flowers produce seed, I may send you some...

That is very kind of you Faerieflora, perhaps its because I got them before the heavy frost and snow, which killed the ones in my hanging basket, then later killed the ones in large pots shaded under the Camelia in a large pot I have.

This winter has been a harsh one for plants, and it is sad to lose them to the cold. But Spring will soon be here, to lift our spirits and the plants.

They did say on tv that with the study they have done with the nature, we are supose to have an early spring, I am wondering now will we.

We shall see. Though we should get a good show of flowers and vegetables this summer, as the frost and snow will have done a good job of cleansing the ground.

Yes the frost does kill all the germs proven fact countries that are cold have less disease. I was just saying on another page a mild February is a bad omen as it brings frosts in May and our February's are getting milder, compared with history here. http://bws.users.netlink.co.uk/

At least they look prettier than the snow. I wonder how such delicate looking flowers can survive in the cold frost
