I wish I could tell you, Grenville. I bought a bagged selection of mixed colour Dahlias by a Dutch Company, the name of which escapes me. After looking about I've found that I received a true variety in the package that I bought not only in colour but in form as well... the above looks like it might be a fimbriated dahlia or a modified cactus...there are as many forms as stars in the sky, it seems... I have a ball, a number of cactus...a pompon...and dinnerplate dahlias that are the medium size...by far not the largest available...
This little sorti has given impetus to delve a little deeper into the mountain of info available...but unfortunately I'm no wiser as to the name of this variety. Sorry...perhaps I'll find it in time...
