This is my mangosteen sapling I just received from Indonesia today. It’s a King grafted variety of mangosteen. This little tree is an experiment for me. I’ve read people are successfully growing this tree here in San Diego, CA. Also, there’s an awesome 7 or 8 ft tall tree growing at the San Diego Zoo for 4 or 5 years. Checked your link out Delonix and sounds like it's super tropical. Always good to try something different.

Thorneyside,
It’s considered an ultra tropical tree. However, there’s people growing them in the mildest , protected areas of San Diego’s awesome frost-free subtropical climate. One local nursery that sells them says Vietnamese people here have fruited it. Although, I would have to see pics to believe it.

Bushbernie,
Thank you. I will post my progress with this tree.
I’ve read it has to have tons of water and no direct sun here until it’s over 6 ft (2 m) tall.
