......suposed to be blue... still never mind it is very pretty and still fits with the colour theme, which is now white, blue and purple, in the area in front of the small lilac bush.

Thanks Buffriddler, it was suposed to be pale blue with a white centre, but to be honest i think i prefer the colour that it has come out anyway.

How funny, Angie! This was one of my purchases on Wednesday! It had a flower on it but of course the pouring rain knocked it off before I could take its photo...My plant label says 'blue with a white centre' but I like yours - luckily!

hi Spritz, is yours china blue? mine is suposed to be, infact i paid extra for the fact that it is a blue not a purple, i just wondered if i have been sent a wrong variety. and buffiriddler, i will take a pic of the leaves, but proberly the easiest way to tell them appart is that hardy geraniums are perennial plants that do best in the garden, most types are fully hardy and easy to grow, the stems are thin and soft, the leave can be all different shapes. Pelagroniam and Zonal Geranium are shurbs, even if sometimes they are listed as perennial, the stems are thick and quite fleshy and they are best off in pots, usually scented and not fully hardy - they need to be brought in during the winter. but once again they come in so many different shapes and sizes and the leaves are not always the same either. you have to look at the whole plant to see the differences and they are quite obvious once you know the difference. i have quite a collection of both types of gernaium, why don't you have a look in my garden pages maybe this will help you.

Hi Angie, I don't think 'Buxton's Variety' is a true blue, more of a violet blue, so I guess you probably have the right plant. 'Rozanne' I think is a better plant and worth looking for if you don't already have it.

thanks Bluespruce, i have complained the guy i bought if off on ebay, as the picture was a deffinate true blue and he advertises it a china blue, and clearly it's not. this is the trouble with buying on line, you are relying on a picture and the sellers honesty! still it is a lovely plant anyway, but will have to move it as this bed is all blue and white - or suposed to be! lol

I've got 'Rozanne' and she is gorgeous! Long-flowering, too. I am still waiting to see what 'Buxton's Variety' looks like - the one flower that fell off was pretty. It has lots of buds, so I hope they open soon. :-)

Yes Barbara 'Rozanne' is a great plant , flowers are also larger than Buxtons, another newish one to look out for is 'Jolly Bee'

I have just posted photos of the two Geraniums side-by-side. 'Rozanne' is certainly larger flowered than 'Buxton's Variety'. I shall watch out for 'Jolly Bee'!
