Hamamelis 'Rochester'

Hamamelis 'Rochester' (Hamamelis mollis (Chinese witch hazel))

Chinese and Japanese witch hazel hybrid, not as pretty or as hardy as Hamamelis x intermedia but flowers open earlier and are more fragrant. I've read this is the most fragrant of all the witch hazels and the scent is stronger than most. The downside is the dead leaves don't drop and it doesn't have the pretty fall color that H. intermedia has.
