Ivy (Hedera helix (English ivy))

This is the ivy I was going to use to cover up the ugly fence. It seems to grow quite quickly once it gets going and doesn't mind the shade. When I go to the garden centre, BB, I will look out for the one you mentioned earlier. Thanks for that.

Hi Gee..if you mean the "buttercup" ivy it is a lovely colour,and not as invasive,but whichever you choose the little birds wil love it..esp wrens !

There is another variety called "goldheart Gee,which is dark green with yellow splodges,also attractive.Only found one nursery around here which stocks them.Good luck.

Agree Toto..we have thick ivy all along the walll separating our garden from the churchyard.You should see how many small birds disappear into it at dusk !
