The only hydrangea I have any luck with is Annabelle. This is so gorgeous. :-))

Thanks everyone! When I bought it it was bright blue, but my garden has alkaline soil so it's pink which I do like too..
Annabelle is spectacular though Lori. A friend has one and it is really stunning, such huge flower heads..

Thank you Dawn..
Yes it is Amy really bright and coming into its own when other plants are beginning to fade..:o))
Thank Sandra, yes I do too. I do love the blue mottled ones you see in the Lakes tho. I remember on holiday when the children were small, we would be coming back to White Cross Bay caravan park on the shores of Lake Windermere, just past Langdale Chase with the squirrel sign and a beautiful Lakeland lodge house would come into view with a hydrangea bush covered right to the ground with huge blue blooms. Nearly there now, we'd all shout..:o))

I had forgotten about all those in the Lake District,Janey.Reviving some memories now,as we lived on the Cumbrian Coast for a long time, and visited Windermere often.I also remember, more recently, seeing the sign for White Cross Bay too,but not that it had a Squirrel on it.Happy Holidays, for you and your family..I still feel a sense of 'coming home' when we go ,even though I came back to my birthplace Yorkshire.dare I say, 50 years ago ?? I love it here as well :o) ) x

The Langdale Chase hotel has the squirrel sign Sandra. Yes I remember you saying you lived in Cumbria for quite a few years..:) I love it there, even I feel a sense of coming home! Haha. It's the one area I could live with permanent rain.. Yes Yorkshire is beautiful too isn't it. Had a little holiday at Ripley last year, and scouted round the area...just lovely..

No wonder we didn't see a Squirrel sign at White Cross bay,Janey..wrong place ! :o)
We used to stay at a Hotel quite near Ripley Castle.ideal for visiting Harrogate,or Fountains Abbey, which we love.
Yes,Yorkshire is a lovely place, and still lots of places we have never visited, and as things stand at the moment,,sadly not likely to either :o( x

Yes that's where we stayed next to the castle.
Visited Knaresborough too. Love it there. It is a shame what has happened, but still very lucky compared to many people...X
