Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris 'Cherry Garden', first of my Iris to flower. Actually that's not quite true, Early Yellow, from me, in my next door neighbour's garden opened 2 days ago. Better location than mine, more sunny.

It is only tiny, being a dwarf, so doesn't actually shout out that much, but you are right the texture is sumptuous.
