This isn't the only one in the neighborhood. : > )
There's a few around...however, they're not very widely planted. I think it's been in the last 20 years that they've become a little more available.

They have so many different stages of interest with the leaves, flowers and sausages...

Yes, you're correct. The leaves are very interesting because they feel like sandpaper.
