This is one of my baby Sausage trees...it hasn't grown much lately...I'm guessing it needs to be transplanted. Photo taken on Jan. 24, 2011 for my friend Terratoonie.

Sixpence:
Sausage trees have tons of roots. I just transplanted this little tree 4 months ago...next pot will have to be a large 15 gallon pot.

My concern is: it may grow too quickly and then I'll have to sell it....as I don't have enough room in my yard to plant this tree in the ground. Maybe I'll put it into a 7 gallon pot instead. lol :>)

Lol you are so funny Andy, it can't win if it does nt grow its not good enough and if it grows too well it goes hehe poor thing.

If the roots are fibrous and plentiful does that mean that it is used to very little water? or is it the opposite, it's used to growing in sandy soil? What's life without the occasional challenge, aye, Andy? It's a very unique tree and probably well worth the extra work to see it established.

Yes, that's true...it can't win. lol!
This tree can become quite large in the ground...I've posted several pics in the past. It's a large, fast-growing tree native to tropical eastern Africa, which typically grows close to rivers.

Lori:
This tree loves lots of water. In the ground it will tolerate some drought though.

Perhaps new soil I transplant mine if they are pot bound, the roots sticking out the bottom of the pot or may be a feed.
